NFBPA Greater Houston Public Administration Day

Exposing Students to Civic Leadership, Public Service, and Future Career Pathways

MBK Houston is proud to help sponsor the upcoming NFBPA Greater Houston Public Administration Day, an event designed to expose young people to careers in public administration, civic leadership, government, community service, and public-sector career pathways.

This event creates a meaningful opportunity for students to learn how public service impacts communities, how leadership shows up in government and civic spaces, and how they can begin preparing for future opportunities in college, career, and service.

Why This Event Matters

Public administration is more than government work. It is the work of building stronger communities, creating systems that serve people, solving public problems, and leading with purpose. Through this event, students will have the opportunity to explore how their interests, talents, and lived experiences can connect to careers that make a difference.

This opportunity aligns closely with MBK Houston’s 4th Milestone: Completing Post-Secondary Education or Training, as it provides students with career insight, exposure to leadership panels, access to a college fair, and scholarship opportunities that can support their next steps after high school.

What Students Can Expect

Students attending Public Administration Day will have the opportunity to:

  • Engage with leaders in public administration and civic service
  • Learn about college and career pathways connected to government and public-sector work
  • Participate in conversations about leadership, service, and community impact
  • Connect with participating colleges, organizations, and professionals
  • Explore scholarship opportunities that may help support their postsecondary journey

This event is especially valuable for high school students, college-bound students, young adults interested in leadership or public service, and students who may benefit from scholarship support.

Students may also apply for $3,000 in scholarships, with the scholarship winner announced during the event.
