The State of Men’s Health: A Houston Forum

24 June @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm

It’s Time to Talk About Men’s Health

The Houston Health Department’s Office of Chronic Disease invites the community to attend The State of Men’s Health: A Houston Forum, a free community event held during Men’s Health Month to promote preventive care, wellness, and open conversations about the health needs of men in Houston.

This event brings together health professionals, local leaders, wellness advocates, and community partners for an engaging forum focused on education, prevention, fitness, emotional health, and access to resources that support men and families.

Why This Event Matters

Men’s health is a community health priority. Too often, conversations about preventive care, chronic disease, mental health, fitness, and emotional wellness are delayed or avoided. This forum creates space for honest dialogue, practical information, and community connection.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear from local experts, engage in meaningful discussions, and learn more about resources that can help men take proactive steps toward healthier lives.

Program Highlights

The event will feature:

  • A fitness instructor-guided workout breakout session
  • “From a Daughter’s Perspective,” a TED-style health talk
  • A men’s health panel discussion moderated by Dr. Cydnee Patterson
  • Male-centered vendor tabling in the grand hall
  • Health giveaways, including free gym passes and training session discounts

Featured Panelists and Speakers

The forum will include local voices and professionals committed to advancing men’s health, including:

  • Quentin R. Jiles, LCSW
  • Jacoby Anderson, M.Ed., LVN
  • Dr. Cydnee Patterson
  • Joel Silva
