Volunteer with Us

Volunteers are a powerful part of how MBK Houston creates long-term outcomes for Houston’s youth. When caring adults and community members show up consistently, young people gain encouragement, exposure to new opportunities, and relationships that can change the direction of their lives. Whether you have a few hours to give at an event or you want to serve regularly as a mentor, there is a meaningful way for you to plug in.

How You Can
volunteer

Become a Mentor

Support a young person by volunteering as a mentor through one of MBK Houston’s trusted community partners. Mentors provide consistency, encouragement, and guidance that helps youth build confidence, set goals, and stay on a positive path.

Volunteer at events

Help us bring programs to life by supporting events, youth activities, family engagement efforts, and community outreach. Event volunteers help with set-up, registration, welcoming families, activity support, and day-of coordination.

Share your story

Volunteer as a guest speaker to inspire youth through real-life stories and practical guidance. This may include career talks, leadership discussions, wellness conversations, or sharing lessons learned from your journey.

Provide Resources

If you have resources to share, we welcome support such as internships, job shadowing, training opportunities, supplies, in-kind donations, or connections that open doors for youth and families.

Build solutions

Have expertise in program development, education, workforce, mental wellness, communications, data, or community organizing? Volunteers can support partners by helping strengthen services, develop new initiatives, or improve how programs reach and serve youth.

Help create lasting change for Houston’s youth by volunteering with MBK Houston and our community partners. Your time, voice, and support help build pathways for boys and young men of color and strengthen communities across Houston.
